Kris Newkirk is a commercial banker that specializes in dental practice financing. He is a key individual in the development and ongoing management of First Citizens Bank’s dental lending program. Kris has helped countless dentists purchase, expand and develop their practices, ultimately moving them closer to their career goals.
Outside of his professional career, Kris sits as an affiliate board member at the Arizona Dental Foundation. He also serves on the board of McDowell Mountain Little League. His responsibilities there include sponsorships, marketing and his favorite job of all, coaching T-Ball. Kris recently started his third season coaching and teaching 4-6 year olds the game of baseball.
Kris has been married to his wife Maureen for eight years and they are the proud parents to three handsome boys. Henry (5), Paul (3) and Charlie (8 months). Kris’ youngest son was diagnosed at birth with a rare disease called Glutaric Acidemia Type 1 (GA1). GA1 is only found in roughly 1 in 40,000 live births. Luckily the State of Arizona includes GA1 in its newborn screening panel. This early diagnosis will greatly improve Charlie’s quality of life. In an effort to show appreciation to those who have advocated for newborn screening and GA1, Kris and Maureen are in the process of setting up a foundation that will give back to the rare disease community.
When it comes to dance, Kris can only be described as an absolute novice at best. His last formal dance was at his wedding. His goal with this event is to spread awareness for dental needs, raise money and make it fun for everyone who was kind enough to show up and support ACDC.
Michelle’s dance career started at the age of 12. She began with ballet lessons then added Ballroom and Latin partner dancing after attending Junior Assembly. While obtaining a B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University and a J.D. from Gonzaga School of Law, Michelle also continued her dance education in various dance styles. At that time, her emphasis included Latin, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Arabic dancing.
Michelle trained with Slawomir Wozniak for ballet and Larry Caves at Arizona State for Latin and Ballroom. During this time, she also choreographed routines for children’s performances and acted in college theatre productions such as Romeo & Juliet. She continues to bolster her dance skills through the DVIDA® program and by attending workshops such as The Pulse and the Tucson Salsa Bachata Dance Festival.
Michelle teaches a wide variety of dance styles including Salsa, Rumba, ChaCha, Merengue, Pasodoble, Waltz, Foxtrot, American Tango, Hip Hop, Belly dance, Country, East Coast Swing, Hustle/Disco, Zumba® and Burlesque.
When she isn’t dancing, Michelle enjoys acting, cooking, and swimming – preferably not all at once!
